Thrissur temple offers its hall for Eid prayers after floods
With Kochukadavu Juma Masjid still under water, Purappillikavu Rakteshwari Temple hosted Muslims for Bakrid namaz in 2018.
The Purappillikavu Rakteshwari Temple in Thrissur district opened its hall for Eid al-Adha prayers in August 2018, after the nearby Kochukadavu Juma Masjid remained submerged in flood water. PA Khalid, president of the mosque’s Mahallu Committee, said they had hoped the water would recede in time. When that looked unlikely, temple office-bearers offered their hall at once. A temple official said they see themselves as human first.
