Wayanad cyclist Aifa Mehrin sells juice to fund her racing bicycle
A national-level downhill cyclist from Kalpetta runs an evening juice stall to raise Rs 8 lakh for her bicycle and gear.
For the past three months, Aifa Mehrin, a national-level downhill cyclist from Kalpetta in Kerala’s Wayanad district, has been selling homemade juice every evening at Ayyappa Junction to fund a new racing bicycle. The third-year BA English student at St Mary’s College, Sulthan Bathery, needs about Rs 8 lakh for a downhill bicycle, helmet and protective gear. Sponsors she approached did not reply, so she started her own brand, Aifa Naturals. Her mother, siblings and friends run the stall while she is at college.
