Local fishermen help rescue seven stranded off Nellore coast during cyclone
Residents raised the alarm and fishermen joined officials to bring the men and their boat back from Cyclone Murasu waves.
Local fishermen joined fisheries officials on November 2 to rescue seven fishermen stranded near Juvvaladinne coast in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district. High waves from Cyclone Murasu had forced the men to anchor their boat about 5 km from the shore. Local residents spotted them and alerted the authorities. All seven were brought back safely and the boat returned undamaged. District Collector Himanshu Shukla praised the officials and fishermen for their quick work.
