Muslim, Sikh and Pandit youngsters play Diwali Milan cricket match in Baramulla
Baramulla Cricket Forum used a Diwali exhibition match to bring the town's three communities onto one ground.
The Baramulla Cricket Forum organised a Diwali Milan exhibition cricket match at General Bipin Rawat Stadium in Baramulla on Sunday, 1 November. Young cricketers from the Muslim, Sikh and Kashmiri Pandit communities played together while guests from all three watched. Representatives of each community cut a cake together. Older spectators recalled years when Pandits played sport alongside their Muslim and Sikh neighbours. Forum general secretary Zubair Ahmad Dar said sport can cut across religious divisions.
