Family of brain-dead Hyderabad girl donates her organs to six patients
Guda Rohitha, 13, was hurt in a road accident; her family chose organ donation under the Jeevandan programme.
The family of 13-year-old Guda Rohitha in Hyderabad agreed to donate her organs after doctors declared her brain dead, India Today reported on November 2. The Class 9 government school student was critically injured on October 20 when a speeding lorry hit the autorickshaw carrying her family near Balanagar Flyover as they returned from a temple. Under the Jeevandan programme, her kidneys, liver and corneas went to six patients who were waiting for transplants.
