Hyderabad father donates son’s organs to help five patients
Macharla Shankar donated the organs of his son Vamshi Krishna, 26, under Telangana's Jeevandan programme after a road accident.
Macharla Shankar of Edulabad in Rangareddy district has donated the organs of his 26-year-old son, Vamshi Krishna, who was declared brain dead in Hyderabad after a road accident. The young businessman was hit by another two-wheeler near the Uppal bus depot on October 31. Under the state’s Jeevandan programme, his two kidneys, liver, lungs and heart were donated, which can help five patients waiting for transplants. Jeevandan Telangana thanked the family for their decision.
